Our Trip to Jean Lafitte National Park

Our Trip to Jean Lafitte National Park

My school, T.H Harris, went on a social studies field trip with our teacher Mrs. Lusignan and our librarian, Ms. Brewington. Ranger Ami talked to us about the history about the park and what they do to protect it. She worked at the Statue of Liberty to help preserve it so the history would't be lost.

The trial that my group went on was Coquille Trial. We saw many different types of plants and were hoping to see more animals, but most weren't out because of the weather. We took many pictures and videos narrating what we were seeing. After we explored the trail, we went dip netting in Bayou des Families. Each group got a clear bucket, net, and a glove. We used a net to catch crawfish, shrimp, fish, etc. Afterwards, we put everything that we caught back into the water. We did many interesting things, and I am hoping to back again soon!
