T.H.Harris and JLNP's Culture Project

On our trip to the Jean Lafitte National Park I was so afraid of all the animals you could see. At the Educational Center Ranger Ami talked to us about the trees at the park. She told us that all the broken trees in the wetland were part of helping protect us from horrible storms. We started to walk on the Conquille Trail, there are so many things you can see on the trail. We heard things moving in the water, and we even saw a huge spider. Ranger Ami told us that we needed to be very quite. When we were talking we could not see anything. We heard thing running away. When we were walking along the trail we saw a dead bird lying on the ground. We walked more and around the frog area we saw a Yellow Belly Sapsucker bird. We left the trail and went fish netting and we were quite that time. We caught leaches, baby shrimp , and baby crawfish.
