T.H. Harris and JLNP's Culture Project

I had fun at the field trip to Jean Lafitte National Park. I learned about how important how is our marshes are to us. Ranger Ami shared with us that she worked at the Statue of Liberty. "That every important place has a story", she told us. We went net fishing and caught craw fish and bugs. It wasn't that fun at first since we couldn't catch anything. After we got quiet and were calm we started catching things. Then we walked on a trail and saw 6Th graders plant trees. We sat down at the end of the path and talked about how levees are a good thing for us but a bad thing for nature. I loved to see the little birds playing and chirping. That was a fun time with the class. It was a good way for us kids to understand nature. Thanks for reading. A.S.4
