T.H.Harris and JLNP's Culture Project

Recently My School and I went on a field trip to Jean Lafitte National Park, it was such a blast. We met Ranger Ami, she told us how every tree has a story, and how they protect our city. We went on Coquille Trail there, we saw a bunch of cypress trees, that were uprooted or had Spanish moss on them, patches of cattails, and all kinds of flowers. Also we seen all different types of birds and animals like woodpeckers, salamanders, and a huge lizard. After we went on Coquille Trail, we went dip netting in Bayou Des Families, it was so fun! A few of us found leeches, baby shrimp, and baby crawfish. One of our group members was whistling to get the birds to chirp and the birds were singing back, pecking, and just being birds. You should go there atleast once in your lifetime you'll have a blast.
